    And the winner is...

When we were asked if Adam Thomas and the Souljers would like to perform at the Leicester City Football Club Player of the Year Awards our answer was, of course, a short, sharp YES!

Adam is sports mad in general but football ranks as his absolute favourite... Man Utd first and foremost but, after the red devils, LCFC are his team of choice.

By 6.45 the scene was set for a VIP drinks reception and Adam eased the guests into the evening with a few slow/mid tempo numbers including Last Request by Paolo Nutini, Harry Connick Jnr's version of For Once In My Life and, a particular favourite of mine, Close To You by the Carpenters.

The guests took their seats in the Walkers Hall and Adam kicked off a set of swing and rat pack songs and set the scene for the awards themselves with Kasper Schmeichel picking up both Player of the Year and Player's Player of the Year 2012!

Once the awards and the auction had been completed (which raised a fantastic amount for charity!), the Souljers joined Adam on the stage for a final set of pop, soul and indie to end the evening in style! Fan of the evening has to go to LCFC manager Nigel Pearson: not only did he smile, sing and bop along all evening, he even became an honorary Souljer ;)

Nigel and his wife were so lovely and full of praise for the show... really genuine people. We also had an enquiry for next year's Lord Mayor's Ball... so pleased he had fun :)

So congratulations to Kasper, thank you to the hosts and good luck for the rest of the season to everyone at the King Power Stadium :)

When Peter married his mysterious girl!

We decided to post this belated blog about the day that the exceedingly lovely Jennie Edwards married her dashing fiancé Peter George surrounded by their friends, family and... Us! We hope that you enjoy it.
We first met Jennie at the wedding of Elizabeth and Richard Barker a few years ago. She stuck in our minds as she didn't leave the dancefloor at all that night! Our kind of guest... Singing and dancing along and just out to have fun. Our paths crossed again in December 2010 when she attended our show with our big band and dancers and, before we knew it, we were booked to give her a third performance: this time in the grand setting of Kilworth House Hotel for her own big day!

After a week of non-stop rain, the newlyweds were lucky enough to have a fairly dry day and even escaped the sporadic afternoon showers! As they had exclusive use of Kilworth House for the day, we had the pleasure of performing in the stunning Orangery all evening: the whole place looked amazing.

The lucky couple had a live performance of Adele's ’Make You Feel My Love’ performed by Adam for their first dance followed by a set of big band and swing numbers to get the party started. The dancefloor was full ALL night (even whilst the buffet, photo booth, chocolate fountain and sweetie table offered tempting distractions!)

Their guests were treated to a second live set from Adam Thomas and the Souljers and, in all honesty, I doubt there has ever been a busier dancefloor, louder cheers or as much appreciation for any wedding entertainment ever: these guys were awesome!
45 minutes later, soaked in sweat and boiling hot, the disco kicked off with special requests from the bride (Steps) and groom (Take That!) Their wedding reflected their personalities perfectly: fun, bubbly and classy :)
Best of luck for the future you two! x

Rainbows Charity Night at Sytner Leicester

We've performed in some unlikely places and unlikely situations before and, on our list of "Random but great" shows, the charity night for Rainbows at Sytner Leicester was definitely a new entry!

When we were approached by Gina from Sytner BMW Leicester about a charity performance for Rainbows we jumped at the chance to help out: we've performed for Loros on numerous occasions, sung at charity events for individuals, several breast cancer gigs, opened up large scale events like Relay For Life and Oxjam and Adam has even performed with Jasper Carrott for the Variety Club and Alexander O'Neal for Legends of Sport! Rainbows was a charity that had always been on our wishlist and so it was a privilege to join them for their 2012 Ladies night!

The Sytner showroom was emptied of cars and, in their place, stalls of exhibitors (including fancy cupcakes and the National Space Centre!) set up in preparation for a fantastic evening.

Once the managing director had made everyone feel welcome, Adam Thomas and the Souljers performed a 15 minute (in your face!) set to really get the party started. The lovely audience soon warmed up and, despite the strange surroundings (for a show at least!), sang along and cheered throughout!

    No time to rest Tom!

Following a catwalk show and auction, Adam took to the stage once more for another 15 minute blast! We had so much fun and were so proud to be a part of the evening (raising in excess of £4,000 no less!)

Congratulations to Gina and the team for such a succesful event! Check out the article in Countryside La Vie and look out for another Rainbows performance blog post coming soon :)
